Why I Keep Coming Back to Water-Right School

Aaron Lueth and Glenn Gruett at Water-Right School

Multiple times each year, Water-Right offers three-day events designed to educate water treatment professionals of all types. That includes Clear Choice Water Group (CCWG) dealers and their employees as well as plumbers, well drillers, and more.

There’s a lot to learn from seasoned veterans in the industry, including plenty of advice and stories from the Gruett family and many other Water-Right experts. For people like Aaron Lueth of Rhinelander, Wisconsin, there’s enough going on to encourage him to attend more than once.

“With three days of workshops and classes, there’s a lot to cover,” he says. “Our job is not an easy one to do. Keeping up and learning new things as you go is very important.”

Lueth has been working in the plumbing industry since 2003, and he’s owned and operated Lueth Plumbing & Heating for the past three years.

Lueth’s business offers HVAC and plumbing services as well as water treatment, water testing, and services for wells and septic systems. Water-Right School helps him get the continuing education credits he needs for his master plumber’s license, but it also helps him better serve his customer base.

“Water quality is huge when it comes to appliances,” Lueth says. “By testing and improving the water, I can get a better life expectancy out of my boilers and water heaters.”

Lueth told us the story of one woman with a home that was only six years old, yet she was already having major issues with her furnace and water heater. Plus, she was dealing with unsightly green stains on bathtubs, toilets, and sinks. Lueth says the problem was highly corrosive water with iron in it.

“I just asked her if anyone had tested the water,” he recalls. “Nobody had ever tested it. We ended up using an acid neutralizer and installed a water softener so we could give her really nice water and took care of her corrosion problem.”

Since he began selling our equipment, Lueth has attended Water-Right School twice, and he plans to return the next time he gets a chance.

Not only does he value the information he receives, but it’s also a place to talk shop with industry peers who aren’t the competition down the road.

“You’re meeting people from all over the country,” Lueth says. “You might be talking to a guy from Kentucky right next to you, and the next guy is from Florida. It’s neat to see how they apply different methods and how they sell.”

Lueth says getting face time with water treatment legends like Glenn Gruett is another bonus of attending more than once.

“From their history in the industry to the new technologies coming out, Water-Right has an amazing story and it makes a person really proud to sell and install that equipment.”

Lueth is looking at expanding his business and hiring more employees to help handle the growing workload. Attending Water-Right School will definitely be part of new employee training.

“It would be mandatory,” he says. “To do what we do, you can’t just have anybody doing it.”

While Lueth is not currently a member of the CCWG, it is an opportunity he is interested in and plans to explore in the future.
